Do you Facebook? Are you LinkedIn? Have a space on MySpace? Brady Tuefel, a multimedia journalism professor at Cal Poly, will discuss social networking and the growing role it’s playing in the business world.

“Biz” buzz

Hear from Elizabeth “Biz” Steinberg, executive director of the Economic Opportunity Commission of SLO County, whose reach is extending to the national stage through her position on the board of the national Community Action Partnership and an interview with Obama’s early care and education transition team.

Extra, extra, hear all about it

As a former big city business editor and the founder and editor of Pacific Coast Business Times, Henry Dubroff has a unique perspective on these economic times. He’ll share survival tips for small businesses as well as his thoughts on the future of newspapers and business news.

A weighty situation

In her role as head of the new Cal Poly Center for Obesity Prevention and Education, Ann McDermott is creating partnerships to fight obesity locally and working to establish the center as national leader on the subject. She’ll discuss those efforts and her perspective on the growing problem of childhood obesity.

It will be “Unforgettable”

The San Luis Obispo Little Theatre will perform an excerpt of its musical tribute to the legendary entertainer Nat King Cole, starring SLO legend Roy Henry. Back by popular demand, “Unforgettable” is a fundraiser for the 10th annual Legends Series.
